Brist is the village on the very seacoast. That is the most southern place on the Makarska Riviera, about 40 kilometers away from Makarska, adorned by the beauty of the Biokovo mountain and historical cultural monuments. Brist is the birth place of many well known Dalmatian poets, let us mention just Andija Kacic Miocic, and it is also the birth place of the famous painter Mladen Veza. The St Mary's church was built by the sea in 1870, and near the church there is a monument to Andrija Kacic, a masterpiece by sculptor Mestrovic.
