Sali is the biggest place on Dugi otok with its 1190 inhabitants. In this place, fishing takes up a very important place today, as well as through the years of its history, because fishing stimulated its development. The factory of canned fish called Mardesic was also built there. The church of the extolment of Mother Mary was bulit at the remains of the previous church, and gothic and renaissance grails, girandoles and valuable pictures are kept in there.
