Funtana is placed in the central part of the west coast of Istria. It is placed between Vrsar and Porec. Fontana is the fishing, agricultural and touristic place with numerous bays and small islands. In the place there live about 1000 inhabitants. Because of its hills it is famous by its vineyards and olives. Pine and oak woods often reach the sea. Climate is mild mediterranean, so swimming in the beautiful clean sea possible from May to October. On regional highway Porec-Vrsar there is a parish church of St.Bernard that was built in 1621, and it was upgraded in 1941. The more intensive tourism began when the camps, hotel settlement, rooms and apartments had been built on the littoral of Zelena laguna. In Funtana there are many gastronomy facilities, taverns and inns. Gastronomic offer is diverse.
