Zaostrog is the tourist place northwest from the town of Ploce. It consists from the older part, under Biokovo, and newer coastal part, next to the main trunk route. The baroque church of St Barbara is located on the cemetery, and it is famous for its inscriptions in Bosancica (old alphabet from that area) . It is rich in marble altars, baroque wooden choir stand and organs from the master Petar Nakic. The church also has busts of Andrija Kacic Miocic and Ivan Despot, both works of Ivan Rendic. The monastery is certainly worth mentioning, the library, art collection, and ethnographic collection. In the old part of Zaostrog is St Roko church. After the earthquakes the inhabitants are leaving the old settlement, and start to develop tourism in new Zaostrog. You can find accommodation in private rooms and in auto camp.
