Veli Rat is 5 kilometres far away from Bozava. It counts 87 inhabitants today. This place has existed eversince the Roman times but under the name Ad Punctas. In the place there live mostly farmers and navigators. One of the sights of this small place is the St.Anthony church. The environment is forested and there is a lighthouse in there which was bulit in 1849 and it is one of the highest on the Adriatic. The most beautiful sandy bay on the island is Sahrun.
