Sucuraj
Sucuraj is a small place, located on the east point (crest) of the island of Hvar, 49 kilometers from Jelsa, and it has 387 inhabitants. It is adorned by sand beaches Cesminica, Perna, Maleska, and there are also tourist facilities, apartments, auto-camps and boarding houses. There are also many rooms you can rent from individual renters. The place closest on the   mainland is Drvenik, from which there is a ferry for Sucuraj. You can reach Sucuraj also by taking a ferry from Split to the city of Stari Grad, and then taking a local road to Sucuraj. Sucuraj has a considerable fishing fleet, and it is well known for its quality wines and olive oil. Come and enjoy the breathtaking nature and visit the cultural sights and various events. The church of St Ante Padovan, built in a baroque style with Gothic elements, represent valuable monument. Another monument is St August Monastery and the church of St Juraj.
