The island of Brac is the biggest island in Dalmatia. On the island of Brac there is the highest peak from all Croatian islands - Vidova gora. Between Solta and Brac there is nautical passage called Splitska vrata (the gate of Split). On the island of Brac there are 22 settlements, most of them are on the north side, and they are inhabited with 13824 inhabitants. The island of Brac is connected with the mainland by two ferry lines and one boat line, and you can also fly to the island , to airport Bol. The limestone from Brac is very famous, and chiseled from ancient times till today. The most famous tourist destination on the island of Brac is Bol, on the southern side of the island, famous for its beach Zlatni Rat (the Golden Crest).
