Brela is located 16 kilometers from Makarska towards Split, and it has 1,483 inhabitants. It was named after wells located in this area. The place is known by its beautiful pebble beaches, and the most famous ones are Promajna and Bratusa. Brela consists of small villages under Biokovo. The church Lady of Karmen was built in 1730.  Alongside the cemetery there is a barrow with tombstones ornated with reliefs.
